Yvette Landry's "Madame Grand Doigt" at Bayou State Book Talks

Tuesday, September 13, 2016 - 6:30pm to 8:00pm

Join Yvette Landry, author of "Madame Grand Doigt," for a reading and discussion of her new book as the first of this year's Bayou State Book Talks.

Landry is a Grammy-nominated, award-winning vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and noted children's author, whose first book, "The Ghost Tree" (2012), received a nomination for Louisiana's "Young Readers' Choice Award" and represented Louisiana at the National Book Fair in Washington, D.C.

Her new book, "Madame Grand Doigt," is about a young girl, her grandmother's stories, and a life-changing adventure. Join us as we listen to readings from the new book, learn about how Yvette's childhood inspired the story, and share other tales. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

Bayou State Book Talks is a monthly discussion series led by authors from Louisiana who have written books that are of interest to Louisianians. The series is co-sponsored by the Center for Louisiana Studies, UL Lafayette, and the Lafayette Public Library System. Talks are held at the Main Library in Downtown Lafayette, 301 W. Congress Street, on the second Tuesday of the month during the school year, from 6:30-8pm.
