The In Your Own Backyard Collection are videos that document the monthly workshop and lecture series put on by the Center for Cultural Eco-Tourism (now called Center for Louisiana Studies Programming and Special Projects) from 2009-2013, which was reinstituted in 2023. This series was sponsored in part by the Acadiana Center for the Arts, Lafayette Convention and Visitors Center, Louisiana Division of the Arts, and Vermilionville.

The collection includes videos about the role of traditional instruments in Cajun and Creole music, Traiteurs and healing traditions, aspects of Mardi Gras traditions, farming, hunting, and trapping traditions, folk traditions and customs such as Juré singing, egg decoration and pocking, dancing, St. Joseph's Altars, and vernacular achitecture, local historical talks on archaeology, dance halls, and statehood, cooking and costume making demonstrations, as well as many other topics.
